This is going to be the last blog post for Branded By. To wrap things up I wanted to point out a few things I have learned from this and give y’all some tips on how to effectively build and grow a brand on social media.
All the people I have written about have a few things in common. These common things can be translated into tips that everyone can use to better build a brand, whether it’s a personal brand or a business brand.
- Do what you love and are passionate about.
- All the people I have written about have let their passions lead them to profit.
- Doing what you love is very important because your love and passion for something will shine through in your work and allow you to better benefit your audience. When people see that you really care about something, it may make them care about it more. Excitement can be contagious.
- Doing what you love will also make your job feel less like a job. It will allow you to feel more happy and excited about what you are doing.
- Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
- None of the creators featured on this blog only did one thing or focused on one avenue.
- Diversify your content across multiple platforms and don’t solely rely on one platform for your success. What happens if that one platform suddenly shut down? You would want to have other avenues to find your success and secure your job.
- Being on different platforms also allows you to further your exposure and reach more people. One of your goals as a social media professional should be to reach, engage, and benefit as many people as you can.
- Build a strong and consistent brand image.
- Everyone featured had a strong brand image and posted content that was “on brand” and what their audience followed them for.
- Determine the image and voice you want to have on social media and stick to it. The content you post on social media should fit your brand. Your audience followed you for a certain reason so posting content that fits your brand allows your audience to build trust and feel good about why they followed you.
- Being consistent allows your audience to better understand you.
- It also makes your social media pages look put together and professional.
- Engage with your audience.
- Engaging with your audience allows you to learn more about them and better serve them. You can learn more about the content they want to see and even give them content they want before they even know they want it.
- It also allows your audience to feel like they are seen and valued.
- By engaging with your audience more, they, in turn, will engage with you more.
- As humans, we all love to feel a sense of connection, so your social media pages should allow your audience to feel that way.
- Be yourself.
- Don’t try to be someone you’re not.
- People love authenticity and your social media pages should have that human factor to them.
- Let people see a glimpse into your life and share things you genuinely like and care about.
- Utilize the features available on each social media platform.
- It is important to stay up to date with new features that platforms provide.
- Using these features, such as highlights and reels, allows you to stand out to your audience and fully utilize all that is being offered to you by the platforms.
- Using these functions could lead to more engagement.
I hope that you have enjoyed this blog, learned about a new creator or brand, and learned more about using social media as a tool to grow a brand. ❤
